What Makes a Quality ABDL Diaper
Bambino super absorbent diapers are advanced, well-engineered products that provide many benefits including comfort, exceptional leakage protection, odor reduction and help maintain skin health.
Our ABDL diapers have a top sheet, an absorbent core and a backsheet. The top sheet is the part of the diaper that comes in direct contact with human skin and is thus designed with comfort in mind. This layer uses porous and absorbent materials to make sure that the skin stays dry.
The inner core of the diaper is made of a Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP). When dry, the SAPs are small granules that look like table sugar. When the diaper is wet, it turns blue because of a change in pH-balance and become a durable gel that locks liquid away to help keep skin dry and healthy. The super absorbent polymer can absorb more than 30 times its own weight in fluid.
The backsheet of the diaper is made of a waterproof polyethylene film that serves as a microporous barrier. The pores are too small for water drops to leak through, yet they release water vapor. The result means it is drier outside and has lower relative humidity.
Bambino ABDL diapers are made by a multi-step process in which the absorbent pad is first vacuum-formed, then attached to a permeable top sheet and impermeable bottom sheet. The components are sealed together by application of heat or ultrasonic vibrations. Elastic fibers are attached to the sheets to gather the edges of the diaper into the proper shape so it fits snugly around the legs and crotch. When properly fitted, the diaper will retain body fluids which pass through the permeable top sheet and are absorbed into the pad.
